Tips for making Blueberry Moon Milk:

In a pinch, dried or freeze-dried blueberries work well as a substitution.

The sunflower seeds can be omitted or replaced with any seeds of choice. Hemp or pumpkin seeds work well.

The peppermint extract can be replaced with a food-grade peppermint essential oil.

For a sugar-free version, this sugar-free sweetener works great at replacing maple syrup.

Alternatively, raw honey or coconut sugar can replace the maple syrup.

To Make Iced Blue Moon Milk:

  1. Blend all ingredients PLUS the addition of maple syrup/sweetener of choice.

  2. Do not heat. Simply strain, then pour over ice.

  3. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond or oat milk
  • 1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons raw sunflower seeds
  • 1 tablespoon blue butterfly pea flower powder
  • 1 teaspoon unrefined coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon pink himalayan or sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or liquid sweetener of choice
  • optionally to garnish: fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  • To a blender add all of the above ingredients sans maple syrup and mint leaves.
  • Blend until smooth and uniform.
  • Optionally strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag. (I do not do this as I don’t mind any larger bits of berries or seeds settling in the bottom of my cup).
  • Heat your moon milk mixture over low-medium heat on the stove-top.
  • Stir in maple syrup or sweetener of choice. Whisk gently until foamy and heated throughout.
  • Pour into mug(s) and optionally garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  • Enjoy!

I love this recipe! I normally prefer a hot drink, but I like this one hot or cold. I used honey instead of the syrup and doubled the recipe so I can have it several nights. THANK YOU !

  2. Hi this recipe sounds delicious! I only have fresh pea flower tea what’s the best way to you use it in this recipe?

    1. Hi! Thank you! I would blend the ingredients, and then during the warming stage I would add 2 teaspoons of the tea, turn off the heat and let it steep a few minutes before serving. I hope this helps!

  3. Hi. I would like to try this recipe. Could you please let me know the calorie count per serving? The recipe says over 1,000 but that doesn’t make sense considering the ingredients. Thank you.
