I seldom eat or drink out these days, but when I do, I love to stop by a Starbucks, especially when on trips out of town. Starbucks always hits just right as a little self-care treat. Enter this copycat recipe! I don’t think I’ve hidden my love for lavender on this blog one bit. This iced lavender oatmilk latte is no exception! I tried my best to duplicate the one you can get at Starbucks. As always, I look forward to hearing what you think!

Ingredient Notes

Lavender syrup: Starbucks crafts its Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte using a special lavender powder, essentially culinary-grade dried lavender buds ground into a fine powder. This can be a substitute for lavender syrup, using an equivalent amount (2 tablespoons). In my experience, I’ve tried using the powder but found a preference for lavender syrup, which, interestingly, felt closer to Starbucks’ original flavor. When it comes to lavender syrup, I love to use my lavender simple syrup recipe. You can also opt for store-bought lavender syrup for convenience.

Oat milk: When it comes to oat milk, I really love using extra creamy oat milk (which can be found in a few different brands). While oat milk is recommended being that this is an oat milk latte, feel free to swap it out for dairy milk or another plant-based milk like almond milk or coconut milk.

Espresso: One shot of espresso is used in this recipe. If you do not have access to espresso, you can use brewed coffee, instant coffee, or even store-bought cold brew in this latte recipe.

Ice: Fill the glass about three-quarters of the way with ice. I love to use crushed ice, but use any you prefer.

To make a hot lavender oatmilk latte, warm the espresso and milk in a saucepan over medium heat until warm throughout, then whisk in the lavender syrup until well combined. Pour into a mug and enjoy!

Notes

A note about lavender: Starbucks makes their Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte with lavender powder, which is nothing other than culinary-grade dried lavender flowers finely blended into a powder. You can do this instead of using lavender syrup and using the same amount (2 tablespoons). I have tried it this way and simply preferred the lavender syrup method and oddly enough, thought it tasted more like Starbucks! As for lavender syrup, I use my own recipe which you can as well, or you can also purchase lavender syrup for ease.
