Ingredient Notes
Pears: I prefer using Bosc pears for roasting, as they become particularly tender and buttery, but feel free to use any pears you have on hand. Just be certain to core them before roasting!
Butter: Either regular dairy-based butter or plant-based butter can be used in this recipe. It helps tenderize and roast the pears, adding a rich flavor that complements the chocolate notes.
Earth Echo Cacao Bliss: Earth Echo Cacao Bliss Superfood Elixir Blend not only adds a nice nutritional boost, but also provides all the delicious chocolate flavor in the balsamic glaze.
Balsamic vinegar: The natural sweetness of balsamic vinegar creates an exceptional glaze, pairing beautifully with the chocolate flavor of Cacao Bliss. I do not recommend replacing it with any other vinegar.
Maple syrup: Maple syrup lends additional sweetness and a warm-bodied flavor, though you can substitute any granulated or liquid sweetener you prefer.
Pecans: Chopped or coarsely crushed raw pecans, toasted on the stovetop for a few minutes, add additional flavor, as well as a wonderful textural component. If you are on a nut-free diet, feel free to omit it or use toasted pumpkin seeds or hemp seeds instead.

How to Make Chocolate Balsamic Pears

- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place pear halves cut side up in a baking dish and add a pat of butter on each. Roast for 20 minutes until tender, then flip them cut side down and roast for 5 more minutes.
- While they roast, simmer balsamic vinegar over medium heat until reduced by half, whisking constantly. Turn off the heat and whisk in Earth Echo Cacao Bliss and maple syrup.
- In a hot skillet, toast pecans for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, then set aside.
- Flip the pears cut side up, drizzle with chocolate balsamic glaze, sprinkle with pecans, and enjoy!

- Serve these pears as a sweet side dish to hearty mains like vegan meatloaf or stuffed acorn squash.
- Top off your morning oatmeal or pancakes with one of these glazed pears.
